Urotonic Surface Technology

The best part of LoFric is removing it

The surface layer of LoFric catheters has a hydrophilic coating that binds water. The ingredients are polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and NaCl (common salt). The result is a very wet and slippery surface that has up to 95% lower friction than other catheters. The hydrophilic surface means that the catheter has low friction when inserted. And because the hydrophilic surface is also equipped with Urotonic Surface Technology, it ensures that the friction is low when it is removed.

The world's only catheter with Urotonic Surface Technology

Urotonic Surface Technology

Urotonic Surface Technology is a patented surface layer technology that makes catheterization more comfortable for the user. The secret behind Urotonic Surface Technology is a chemical process that makes the surface layer isotonic to urine. Somewhat simplified this means that the salt content of the catheter’s surface is the same as in the urine. The result is that the water in the hydrophilic layer stays intact during catheterization, which is otherwise the case as the salt content in the surroundings is higher.
